The people of DC are joyful and powerful. We deserve better than interference in home rule.

The 700,000 people of the District of Columbia should be free to govern ourselves. For far too long, however, Congress and federal administrations have interfered in DC communities by overturning our local laws, restricting our local budgets, and imposing their will on the people who live in DC for years and generations.

We are no longer willing to accept anything less than full dignity for our communities. Free DC is setting out to build the cultural and political movement it will take to make DC’s demand for full democratic representation un-ignorable. We want you to be part of it.
