​Authoritarians want to control the capital city because if they control the capital, they can stifle dissent. Over the last year the Trump regime has attempted to gain control over DC's streets, police, laws, budget, and more. He has failed almost every time because local organizers and residents have risen up and said NO. If we want to stop the Trump regime, we need to keep DC free.

On the morning of January 20, allies nationwide are invited to join Free DC and Women's March for visits to Senate offices in support of a Free DC. Together we'll make it clear that the attacks on DC are part of this regime's authoritarian agenda, and lawmakers everywhere who believe in democracy need to be on the side of a Free DC.
