Accessibility
FreeDC is committed to the inclusion of all in our meetings and gatherings around the District. We know that these events bring people together to provide information and trainings, create strategies, develop goals, and enjoy celebrations with the community. The success of these gatherings is determined by the participation of those in attendance.
Reasonable Accommodations:
The FreeDC Work Group aims to provide reasonable accommodations, by request, for any FreeDC event and meeting. These accommodations may include but are not limited to: ASL interpretation, Tactile ASL interpretation, ProTactile interpreting, and information provided in large print or in plain language. Each service is provided by professionals dedicating their time pro bono or low bono. We will do our best to provide services that are requested, but we cannot guarantee. Please provide as much time as possible for accommodations requests, preferably at least two weeks. (Donations for this work are accepted at any time. Please reach out to our Co-Chairs for assistance!)

FreeDC Working Group
We have created a FreeDC Accessibility Working Group made up of amazing volunteers who will try their very best to create spaces that provide accessible accommodations. The Working Group will provide the optimal level of accommodations where needed for events of FreeDC. Some facilities around the District may not offer or meet the criteria needed for accommodations - we will try our very best to find different spaces.
This process is being done through the care and love of your fellow DC neighbors who volunteer their time. FreeDC appreciates each person who has joined this working group, will provide services for events and gatherings, and who has sent resources to assist with this work! If you are interested in joining the working group, please email accessibility@freedcproject.org. Accessibility Working Group - Co-chairs - Dara Baldwin and Lorna Lincoln.
Should you need reasonable accommodations (disability) please request here.
