What does it mean to move beyond allyship and into accompliceship and meaningful action?
As we navigate the aftermath of the DC Democratic primary, a summer of heightened National Guard and federal police presence, and escalating threats from the administration, this virtual teach-in will explore what this political moment demands of all of us. Together, we'll ground ourselves in the history of policing and abolition, examine DC's long tradition of community resistance and non-cooperation, and discuss how these lessons can inform our organizing today.
Through discussion, reflection, and practical examples, participants will explore what accompliceship can look like in practice, from refusing to legitimize harmful systems to building collective power through everyday acts of solidarity and non-cooperation.
