Letter delivered to DoorDash CEO from CM Robert White

On October 2nd, Comedian W. Kamau Bell delivered a letter to DoorDash CEO Tony Xu. The letter was signed by DC Councilmember Robert White, urging DoorDash to speak out against the administration’s “D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force” and the attacks on immigrant communities in D.C. and across the country. Protestors from Bay Resistance held #DeleteDoorDash banners and shared stories of immigrant drivers who were shot by federal agents while on the job.

In the letter, White asserts, “These tragedies illustrate the profound negative consequences of the unprecedented attacks on immigrant communities and on the District’s right to Home Rule. Given DoorDash’s commitment to repairing its relationship with D.C. and that at least 65,000 Washingtonians have worked as Dashers, I urge DoorDash to speak out against the injustices perpetuated against the city and our immigrant neighbors.”

We reiterate our demand that DoorDash issue a public statement against ICE and the federal police killing and kidnapping of their drivers.
