Our 2026 Endorsements Guide

DC’s 2026 elections will usher in a new generation of leadership. The last time DC elected both a new Mayor and a new Delegate was 1990 — during the Marion Barry administration. That’s not the only factor making this election unique. It is taking place at a moment when DC is occupied by federal forces, and experiencing unprecedented threats to our safety, rights, and democratic institutions. The next Mayor and Delegate will be a leader of DC during the time when this regime should rightfully come to an end. That means they will be in a position to either help or hurt in ensuring a transfer of power.

Free DC’s 2026 Endorsement Guide has information to help members of the Free DC community understand who we support for DC’s next leadership, who we oppose, why these are our positions, and how to get involved in the effort to help our endorsed champions win in June and beyond.
