Recording: Training on Election Protection
The June 2026 DC Primary Election is a huge election, where voters will elect a new mayor and new Delegate to the U.S. House. This is going to be a generational change in leadership for the District — and it’s going to happen at a time when DC is under military occupation and increasingly hostile federal presence.
On June 8 and June 9, Free DC partnered with The Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Advancement Project, Harriet’s Wildest Dreams, and the Washington Interfaith Network to host a training on Election Protection. Election Protection Field Program Volunteers play a key role by being present outside voting locations, assisting voters who might have questions, or resolving issues as they evolve.
This training prepared hundreds of volunteers who will be present at voting locations across DC to make sure every voter can participate fully in this election. Watch the recording of the training below.
