Movements throughout the 20th century used screen printing, block printing, and other forms of printmaking to create powerful images that moved people to action and solidified movements. These art forms can shape the way we understand social issues and also spread those messages far and wide.
On January 17, join DC artists Rose Jaffe and The Arcade DC for Community Printmaking for a Free DC, a skills workshops and production session. Come to learn or practice screenprinting and blockprinting techniques, hear about radical printmaking traditions, and produce printed materials you can wear and take home. Participants are welcome to bring blank tote bags, t-shirts, and sweatshirts or any cotton fabric to print on. We will also have shirts and totes available for a pay-what-you-can donation.
This is a drop-in session and you are welcome to arrive any time and leave when you like. Register to attend using the form below.
