DC Emancipation Day celebrates the courage and struggle of individuals who have fought for freedom, and how this work is still needed now. As part of this year’s Emancipation Day celebrations, everyone is invited to “DC Emancipation Day Speak Out: Standing Together to Fight the Power,” a speak out on protecting Home Rule, saving federal jobs and services, and investing in local DC communities.

Join us on Wednesday, April 16 2025 at Metropolitan AME Church starting at 5:30 PM for a panel discussion and conversation.

This event is presented by WPFW 89.3 FM, the Federal Unionists Network, Free DC, the Metropolitan Washington Council AFL-CIO, the Anacostia Coordinating Council, Harriet's Wildest Dreams, and the Washington Informer. Register for this free event using the form below.
