A one-on-one conversation with an established Free DC member is an effective way to help new folks discover how to connect their skills, interests, and availability with the numerous ways to get involved. Personal relationships are the bedrock of organizing.

You don't have to know everything about Free DC to host a one-on-one with a new activist. You just have to be a good listener, curious about others, and committed to helping someone find the role that works for them.

Veteran organizer and Ward 1 Team Member Chris Schwartz will cover the basic structure of a one-on-one conversation, tips for guiding the conversation in an effective way, and resources that will help you find the right match for those you talk to.
