Local poets and musicians will share their talents to celebrate a poetic and positive vision of America that embraces autonomy, inclusivity, artistic freedom, and diverse voices.

“Have you had your fill of military parades, ballrooms, UFC cage fights, and pointless wars?” Takoma Park Poet Laureate David Alberto Fernández said, “Help us put the independents back in Independence Day. Free your speech and free your head.”

The Takoma Park Arts series is a program of the City of Takoma Park’s Arts and Humanities Division which features many free cultural events, including film screenings, art exhibitions, theater, dance, and concerts at the Takoma Park Community Center.
