DC has been under a hostile military occupation for nearly an entire year. For 11 days in August we are telling the story of the ways it has hurt our communities.
August 11: One Year In, End the DC Occupation
Over the last year DC communities have witnessed escalating attacks from this regime. From police killings, to tens of thousands of arrests, to family separations, to children in detention, to violation of our rights and due process, to attacks on workers, to harassment of youth, to armed soldiers in our streets, to companies that are complicity and so much more, DC’s communities deserve and demand justice.
Throughout it all, Congress has relentlessly attacked DC. We know a leader like Trump wants to gain control of the capital city and Republicans in Congress have done everything they can to help him achieve that. On the one-year anniversary of this occupation we’ll call on allies nationwide to condemn these attacks and focus on one elected leader in particular up for re-election this November who deserves to lose their seat because of their involvement in Trump’s attacks on DC.
