DC has been under a hostile military occupation for nearly an entire year, and for 11 days in August we are telling the story of the ways Trump’s occupation has hurt our communities.

August 2: “Justice for Nolberto Meza”
On June 20, 2026, U.S. Park Police initiated a high speed pursuit through Woodley Park that killed Nolberto Meza. Meza was a food delivery worker who was riding his moped when he was struck and killed during the chase.

U.S. Park Police are part of Trump’s “DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force,” which is leading the occupation of DC. Last year Trump rolled back restrictions on high speed pursuits for U.S. Park Police — an action which has already led to multiple near-fatal crashes in DC.
