Last year, the DC Office of the Attorney General filed a lawsuit to stop Trump's illegal deployment of National Guard troops in DC. The federal courts ruled in our favor, but the Trump Administration appealed and that appeal will be heard on October 14.

The National Guard are not in DC for our safety. They are a danger to people here and we want them out. Analysis shows their presence is doing nothing to reduce violent crime. Instead, Guard members are increasingly detaining people in DC without cause, sometimes violently. And all of it is costing us more than $3 million a day, an amount that will eventually amount to billions of dollars.
