Palisades 4th of July Parade with the Ward 3 Team

Join Free DC to walk in the Palisades Fourth of July Parade! Join us for a fun morning to participate in a Palisades community tradition. Our delegation in this parade will be spreading the word about how to protect DC's Sanctuary law as well a forthcoming campaign focused on one of the corporations powering attacks on DC.

Wear your favorite pro-DC or pro-immigrant apparel, or the colors orange and yellow. Invite your friends and neighbors to walk with us. Kids are welcome to bring bikes and scooters.

Getting there
Meet us near 4700 Whitehaven Parkway NW. This location is accessible via the D6 Metrobus route. If driving, street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood.

Finding us
Free DC will be assembling starting at 10:00 AM, and the parade will step off at 11:00 AM.
To find our group, ask a Parade Marshal in the orange vests and walk down Whitehaven Parkway toward MacArthur Boulevard to find the Free DC group.

What to wear + what to bring
Our delegation will be giving out information about how everyone can help protect DC’s Sanctuary Values Act from Congressional and local attacks. Wear your favorite pro-DC or pro-immigrant apparel, or the colors orange and yellow. We’ll have orange and yellow streamers to decorate kids’ bikes, scooters, or strollers. Wear comfortable walking shoes, appropriate sun protection, and a reusable water bottle.

Parade Route
The parade starts at the intersection of Whitehaven Pkwy and MacArthur Blvd at 11:00am sharp. The parade turns right onto MacArthur, continues past Dana Place, then takes a left on Edmunds, a left on Sherier. The parade will end at the Palisades Rec Center.

Post-Parade Festivities
A community picnic starts at 12:00 PM, immediately following the parade, and is free for everyone! The Palisades Community Association sponsors the picnic, the Masons will be serving hot dogs, the Lions will be serving refreshing lemonade, and there will be delicious watermelon, live music, moon bounces, a dunk tank, balloon twisting, glitter tattoos, and face painting. Come one, come all!
