Queers Say Free DC: Community Townhall + Campaign Orientation

  • TRADE 1410 14th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20005 United States (map)

The people of DC deserve dignity and respect, but that's not what this Congress or this Administration have given us. Free DC is setting out to build the cultural and political power it will take to protect Home Rule and win lasting dignity for the people of DC—including standing firm with our LGBTQ+ community against escalating political and cultural attacks that threaten our safety and freedom.

Queer DC residents in particular are invited to attend a special community town hall that will engage participants on the urgent issues threatening LGBTQ+ communities today—from attacks on trans rights, to ongoing struggles for safety, visibility, and true equality in our city. There will also be a Free DC's orientation to learn the campaign's strategy, structure, and how to get started organizing.

This orientation will take place at TRADE bar at 1410 14th St. NW, co-hosted with the Claudia Jones School for Political Education, a popular education organization dedicated to building the political consciousness of DC's working-class community.
