Rank Choice Voting Info Session + Training

  • All Souls Church Unitarian 1500 Harvard Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20009 United States (map)

The DC primary election on June 16 will be the first time the District will be implementing ranked-choice voting (RCV) on our ballots, which will be the standard moving forward for all DC elections.

Free DC’s Ward 1 Team is partnering with the Reeb Voting Rights Project, the Festival Center, and the Washington Interfaith Network for an interactive training on the power of RCV and how it will work for DC voters and candidates in 2026 elections and beyond.

In the first segment of the training, presenters from Grow Democracy DC (a nonprofit, nonpartisan education organization) will cover how RCV will work for voters, including exercises using a mock ballot, followed by time for Q&A.

For those interested in educating others about RCV, in the second "train-the-trainer" segment, attendees will learn the best way to explain RCV from the voter's perspective, see a detailed explanation of how the Board of Elections counts votes, and practice explaining it and answering questions about it.

Light food and childcare will be provided. Please see registration form for details. All are welcome.
