Freedom movements throughout history have used song, dance, food, faith, and celebrations to build the strength and resilience we need to persevere through darkness. We’ll need those practices now more than ever, and on February 8 the Ward 5 community is invited to put them into action!

Join Free DC’s Ward 5 team for a Community Kickoff on Saturday, February 8 at the Edgewood Recreation Center. We’ll have food, games, music, a chance to learn about the campaign. Members of Free DC who live in Ward 5 will be there to welcome you, help you connect with neighbors, and have a great time! Register to attend using the form below.

Event Details

The Edgewood Recreation Center is located at 301 Franklin St NE. This venue is an 8-minute walk from the Michigan Av NE & Franklin St NE stop on the H2, H4, and 80 Metrobus lines, and a 15-minute walk from the Brookland-CUA Metro Station on the Red Line. Street parking is available.

This venue is ADA compliant. We will be in the ground floor community room, with no steps required to enter.
