Ward 4 Team Meeting & “The Last Battlefront” Screening

Please join us for our June Ward 4 Monthly Meeting!

This meeting is extra special because we are featuring the one-hour documentary The Last Battlefront: Quest for the Vote in Washington, D.C. that looks at four turning points in DC history to understand DC’s lack of statehood.

The movie will be followed by a guest conversation with one of the authors of Chocolate City: A History of Race and Democracy in the Nation’s Capital, George Derek Musgrove.

Join us from 6 - 6:30 PM for potluck and popcorn.

Accessibility:

Navigating the space: The space is wheelchair accessible and all activities are on one floor. The main door we use (the door by the mailbox) has a ramp and is accessible from the D60/D6X bus stop. If driving, parking on Gallatin St, is the closest and most wheelchair accessible area to park. Additional parking is available at the back of the church.

Childcare & Interpretation: We offer childcare and interpretation for ASL and Spanish if requested. Please email ward4@freedcproject.org to confirm.

Other requests/accommodations: We want to make this space as accessible to folks as we can! Please forward any additional requests or ideas and suggestions to ward4@freedcproject.org.

Campaign Orientation, Activist Street Fair

The people of DC deserve dignity and respect — but that's not what this Congress has given us. Free DC is a new campaign to build the power it will take to protect our people and our communities from a hostile administration.

This event is being offered by Free DC as part of the Activist Street Fair on Laurel Ave in Takoma Park, and it is open to all. Join this Campaign Orientation to learn more about Free DC’s strategy, our structure, and how to get started organizing with us. Stop by the Activist Street Fair beforehand to connect and learn specific ways to take action with various activist groups in DC!
