13,000 Arrests + Pirro's Lies: One Year of Occupation
Thirteen thousand.
That's the number of people Trump's "DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force" has arrested in DC over the last year. Every single arrest destabilizes someone's job, housing, and family. High profile cases like David Hearn and Sandwich Guy have captured the media spotlight, but we know 85% of these arrests are people who are Brown or Black.
Arrests under Trump's occupation have involved fabricated charges, illegal searches, and violations of constitutional rights. U.S. Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro is violating legal ethics and pursuing Trump's agenda, not justice. All of these are a danger to DC communities. Yesterday we spoke about all of it as part of 11 Days of Action to mark One Year of DC's Occupation.
