50+ organizations sign letter opposing Congressional interference in DC’s budget

Today, more than 50 local and national organizations sent a joint letter to members of the Senate opposing S.J.Res. 102 and H.J.Res. 142, the disapproval resolutions that would massively interfere in DC’s local budget.

“This resolution would destabilize DC’s finances and impoverish DC’s children,” the letter reads. “We thank the Senate for unanimously passing the DC Local Funds Act last year to prevent a similar financial hit on DC’s budget. We, the undersigned national organizations, urge you and all Senators to be strong allies to DC and oppose S.J.Res 102.”
