DC wants transparency on federal agents: Tell DC Council to override Bowser’s veto of FAAR

Over the last year federal agents have been operating in DC in ways that are lawless, terrorizing, and sometimes deadly. On March 3, DC Council took action against it by passing the Full Accountability in Arrest Reporting Act (FAAR). The new bill requires DC police officers to document any federal agents present at an MPD arrest, document federal agents’ use of force, and to publish body-worn camera footage of that use of force. DC Council passed the bill unanimously, 13-0.

Yesterday Mayor Bowser vetoed the bill. This action makes it clear she is willing to help this regime advance their agenda — even if it sets the stage for her own people to be attacked.

DC residents absolutely need and deserve more transparency about what federal agents are doing in our communities. This is not controversial. We call on DC Council to override the mayor’s veto and pass FAAR again. Send a letter to Council letting them know you support the accountability for federal agents, and join us on Tuesday to pack the hearing as Council prepares to bring this back for a vote.
