Justice for DC’s Workers

DC workers deserve better than mass firings, union busting, occupation, and employers who side with the regime.

Trump has destroyed thousands of jobs in our region, including good union jobs and jobs Black families depend on. But Trump’s occupation of DC has hurt workers even more: we now see armed soldiers on our commutes on Metro. Immigration agents have arrested people at checkpoints on their way to work, and have visited workplaces and tried to intimidate people. The baseless arrests of this occupation also hurt workers, because you can’t get to work if you’re detained.

Last night together with UNITE HERE Local 25, DC Jobs with Justice, and fired Rasika workers we came together to demand Justice for DC Workers as part of our 11 Days of Action to mark one year of DC’s occupation.

We heard from former workers at Rasika DC, where management has harassed and fired the workers who are fighting for a union, including threatening to report workers to ICE. We need employers to be on the side of workers and our communities, not this regime and the billionaire class. This type of behavior is not okay with us.

Workers and the union supporting them have called for a boycott of all restaurants owned by Knightsbridge and STARR. That’s Rasika, Bombay Club, Osteria Mozza, The Occidental, and Le Diplomate. Learn more about these workers’ fight and pledge to support the boycott at https://www.eatfairdc.org.
