Art Build + Campaign Orientation Day

  • Location shared upon registration (map)

DC, it’s up to us to make it clear to this administration that we do not want their hypermilitarization and overpolicing — DC wants to be FREE.

We need to make our demand for a Free DC visible all over the District — and we need your help. All day long on Saturday August 16, come join us to paint banners, posters and signs to put up throughout our neighborhoods.

What you should bring:

  • Fabric for your banner — Flat sheets work great! Avoid any fabric that’s shiny or coated.

  • Cardboard or other material for posters + signs

  • An idea for where you want to hang your banner or poster, so you know what size to make it

What we’ll provide:

  • GoGo beats on the stereo

  • Paint for all banners and signs

  • Snacks w/ free Mumbo Sauce

  • We’ll have brushes but you can also bring your own

  • Projector for banner tracing

  • Printed flyers you can take and put up around your neighborhood

  • Space to paint

  • DC pride

Throughout the course of this day, we will also run back-to-back Campaign Orientations. If you want to learn about Free DC’s organizing, join one of these sessions to learn about Free DC’s strategy, our structures, and how to get involved.

Register below to let us know you’re coming and the event location details.
